February 23- Branding Your Line- Q&A

We are excited to present our first meeting of the year, with the topic of branding with Kim X. of La Clotherie and Jacob Alexander Seedman of Shalom Clothing Company​.
Kim will cover the following topics:
1) What is branding and why is it so important?
2) Brand basics: 3 must haves
3) Brand-aid: Does your brand needs a make-over? This will be an interactive exercise. Participants are asked to bring a piece of clothing or accessory representative of their brand and a business card or flyer.
Jacob will discuss, give examples and answer questions about branding his line of purpose-driven street wear, as well as for manyclients. He will speak on the technical as well as the conceptual work that is necessary in building a brand, identity and logo in the apparel world.

Kim X. was born and educated in France and holds a French Master’s degree in Law from the University of La Sorbonne. For 15 years, she worked in the music industry, running her own independent label focusing specifically in artist development and representation. Looking for a different challenge, she switched to the luxury cosmetic industry and has been working for over 20 years with the prestigious Swiss cosmetic company La Prairie as a regional account executive and promotional event specialist. She works closely with top luxury retailers, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. In 2015, she decided to merge her 2 passions: fashion and “image-making” and started her own image consulting company: La Clotherie, to help clients develop their personal brand through image manipulation. Her 2 mottos that best define her subversive approach to branding.: “The image is the message” and “Wear who you are”.
Jacob Alexander Seedman (aka Jacob Shalom) is Designer and Manager of Shalom Clothing Company. Shalom Clothing Company has been carried in over 80 accounts worldwide, and has done special collaborations with brands such as: Diamond Supply Co., HUF, The Hundreds, Digital Gravel, and several stores.The Shalom brand is purpose driven-streetwear. Says Jacob, ” The Shalom vision extends beyond the product. We don’t just sell clothing; we sell a message and a positive way of life…” ​
